Concrete Slab
In order to properly support our water treatment system a strong base must be designed. In order to support this system we have designed a 8 in. thick concrete slab that is made of portland cement. The slab will also include #4 bars due to the high seismic region that Lucerne Valley is located in, and the slab will have dimensions of 80’ by 30’ to support the water treatment system and the water tanks that will store the treated water. The concrete slab will have 2 layers of reinforcement due to its thickness. The bottom layer will have a concrete cover of 3 inches as required by ACI 318 requirements. The bottom layer of reinforcement will be spaced 12 in off center. The top layer reinforcement will be 1.25 in deep with a spacing of 18 inches off center.
